My Story
I’m Tony Warnett. After years working in heavy construction and overseas, I’ve found a different pace with a camera in hand and time in the bush.
Since moving to Mackay in 2023, I’ve spent my spare time exploring the region’s tracks, wetlands and coastlines. Most mornings begin early, dressed in camouflage, scanning for movement and listening for the calls that give the locals away.
Sometimes patience rewards me with an eagle overhead. Other times, the birds wander beneath my tripod or arrive close enough to inspect the bloke hiding behind the lens. Those quiet encounters are every bit as memorable as the spectacular ones.
Photography gives me a reason to slow down, watch and appreciate what’s unfolding around me. Sharing those moments—with their beauty, character and occasional nonsense—is what keeps me coming back.
